This module adds an interesting feature to the death mechanic in Minecraft. Upon death, players will spawn an "Undead Player" Zombie, capable of picking up the dropped armour and weapons of the player. This means those items are less likely to despawn, but you may have to fight to get those items back!

Details Edit

Undead players are spawned at the player's death point. They are never babies or villagers and can always pick up loot and wear armour around them. In SMP and SSP settings their name-tag which, like a player's, can be seen from a great distance through blocks and help players locate their last death-point and dropped items before they despawn. In SMP cooperative situations Undead Players means a team-mate could suddenly turn against you when they die. Gamemode 4 UHCs have shown that this can create a very interesting play dynamic.

Achievements (1.9) Edit

Dying (thus summoning an Undead Player) for the first time will unlock the Risen achievement.

Bugs Edit

  • Since Undead Players use a snowball riding the zombie to display the name-tag constantly, this module is currently not compatible with the Damaging Snowballs module. In the 1.9 version this bug was fixed as the snowball on head was removed as nametags are always visible in 1.9.
  • The zombie can also spawn at the player's bed if the player respawns quickly enough. This bug is only really noticed on servers.
